One-sided – up to 1.5% per 1m, Two-sided – do not allow.

Branches:

Do not allow.

Cracks: 

Do not allow.

Core coloring:

Up to 30% of thin end.

Mechanical damage, adhesions, rot, blackening, bruising:

Do not allow.

B class

Curvature: 

One-sided – up to 2% per 1m, Two-sided – do not allow.

Branches:

Up to 2 branches per 1m (up to 5cm in diameter). Do not allow – rotten, dry, black.

Cracks: 

Do not allow.

Core coloring:

Up to 30%-50% of thin end.

Mechanical damage, adhesions, rot, blackening, bruising:

Do not allow.

C class

Curvature: 

One-sided – up to 2.5% per 1m, Two-sided – do not allow.

Quality requirements

Pine and Spurce sleeper blocks
(Sleeper blocks must be freshly cut from live/growing trees)

Acceptable:

Sinuosity up to 3%, heartwood colouring and rot, tree branches diameter and quantity is not limited, height of branch 4cm as maximum. Falling cracks and mechanical damage is acceptable only of thin end cylinder range.

Not acceptable:

Soft rot, overturning and lightning cracks, sapwood rot, insect damage (larval passages), charring/burning.

Black alder

Do allow:

Curvature up to 2% core staining without limitation, branches up to 10cm in unlimited amount.

Do not allow:

Soft rot, double curvature, tipping and lightning cracks.

Aspen

Allow:

Curvature up to 2% core staining without limitation, branches up to 10cm in unlimited amount.

Do not allow:

Soft rot, double curvature, tipping and lightning cracks.
